Gratitude

On this day following Thanksgiving, I am reflecting on things.

What a good family I have.  We spent the day in Highlands Ranch yesterday with family and 4 Graduate students From China.  The food was plentiful!  The pie was great.  My wife makes killer pie!  It was entertaining to listen to my brother-in-law try to explain football to a Chinese Guy who had no idea of the rules. Safe travel.  Traffic was very well behaved the whole trip.

We are blessed to live in Fort Collins.  While the general economic tension is felt, Things are not too bad.  I find a great deal of cautious optimism. Of course, a life lived optimistically is a life much better lived than any other way.

Serving the community with Habitat, Church, schools and with vocation have led to a very fulfilling year.   I just last week had the opportunity to buy and assemble a Care Givers Supply Pack To be shipped to Africa and used by a traveling caregiver offering comfort and Aid to those impacted by AIDS/ HIV.  Humbling!

I hope the next year will afford me the opportunity to more fully explore effectively helping my community and beyond.

Take a moment to concider your blessings.
