Black Friday... We turned our backs for a second... East Goshen Dog Caught Red Pawed!

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with RE/MAX Preferred RS152252A

It was a quiet black Friday around the Mangigian home.  Max and I headed out about 9 AM to go to Waterloo Gardens because they had white pine roping on sale until noon.  Max wanted to exchange some of his old PS2 games to be put toward an XBOX 360.  We fought all the way to the mall, over all of the things he thought he "had to have" in past Christmases and all of the things that have gone by the wayside, not much used, like the 3 bags of PS2 games that probably cost me hundreds of dollars over the years and which he got $98 for today.  He didn't get my message of past abundance in this time when I am wondering how I am ever going to pull Christmas off without credit cards.

We pulled through it though, as always and came home to have a nice lunch of leftovers.  My mom spent about 45 minutes cutting all of the meat off of the turkey.  I was putting the carcass in a pot and cutting up carrots, celery and onion.  I turned to look at the table and couldn't believe my eyes!  JJ, the shortest dog in the world, was standing on top of my kitchen table, over an enormous but very empty platter of what was once our lunch and dinner for today!  I honestly could not believe my eyes.  He ate an entire platter of food, in a very short amount of time.  He couldn't have possibly chewed it.  I think he inhaled it!  How did such a short dog ever manage to climb up onto the table?  Another lesson I haven't been able to teach my boys is how to push their freaking kitchen chairs in when they leave the table.  That darn dog even managed to lick my face before I put him outside to ponder the error of his ways.

Black Friday... JJ is on 24 hour watch to see if he gets sick from all of the food.  My veterinarian is closed today, but my husband plays basketball with a very nice veterinarian, who laughed.  He said "how would you like to smell all of that good food and then have someone give you a bowl of dry kibble"?  Point well taken.  He said that dogs are very devious when they smell food and will stop at nothing to get what they want.  Since JJ ate enough for 4 meals, he won't be getting dinner tonight!

Now look at this innocent face.  Who would have thought that this little guy would steal my lunch and my dinner?

Looks can be deceiving! JJ

Susan, she is so rotten she knows when she is being bad.  She walks slowly over to you with her head down and licks your leg.  Bad dog!

Susan, I can tell this is your first doggie.  You can't blink or turn your head for a second when there is food around.  It is possible they are able to fly when we're not looking.  I sure hope that cutie didn't get sick.

Don and his puppySusan- just so you know my Glen had sympathy sickness for JJ.  He didn't even eat the turkey leftovers and he was sick today.  We went out of town and got him to find him a bit under the weather and sick to his little (okay big) tummy.  He seems fine now.

He's just 9 months old.  He is about 105 pounds now.  Hopefully he didn't sneak into the frig while we were out of town most of the day.

Oh Tammy, I'm sorry Glen didn't feel well!  105 pounds at 9 months old!!  That's what I weighed when I got married!  I would have to be on my death bed to be that weight now!!  What a cute picture!

haha.  Now, don't be too hard on JJ.  He was just feeling left out of the Thanksgiving festivities and had to partake in the wonderful goodies.  As for how he got up there.. where there's a will, there's a way. :)

Susan - it's those innocent faces that fool you, and then the neighbors say, "He was such a nice dog, such an innocent face. We never expected he was a table climbing left over theif. We are keeping our doors looked and a getting a security system."

JJ looks SOOO much like my dog, but just a mini version... picture him at about 70 pounds and being able to rest his chin on the table while on all 4 feet, (and different "ahem" equipment) and it would be Summer!

luckily my dog has not ever been on the table, she has eaten a bag or two of chips left on the coffee table in the family room, but I see that as being my fault!

Dont get me started on the spoiled kid routine, I have enough of that !

I wonder what kind of dreams JJ had during his turkey-induced nap! Never would expect the pup in the photo to be the one on top of the table.

Susan, Years ago when I lived in a Manhattan Highrise, One Sunday I cooked a whole chicken for dinner, while it was cooling on the counter, I had to run down and get my laundry from the community dryer.  When I came back I found an empty platter sitting on the countertop) The Chicken had vanished bones and all!!! My beautiful 60 pound Mutt,  Dessie had ingested the entire bird, while my husband was in the next room watching football, LOL.!!!! We were on throw-up watch, but she miraculuoslys survived with had no ill effects. We however had to order in!! LOL!!

Angelica, he is a very short cockapoo!  You hope I learned my lesson and I was hoping he learned his!!  Lol!

Ginger, my God!  That little dog was lucky the bones didn't kill him!

Kathy, I've been warned now that when there is food, I need to watch out!

John, he seemed right as rain!  All that food agreed with him and I'm sure he had sweet dreams!

Sharon, he is as sweet as he seems but he's a bugger about food!

Robert, I've seen dogs that were much larger that had JJ's face.  Is your dog a Dandy or Dandy Terrior?

Mike, your comment made me laugh out loud!

Jesse, you gotta love the little guy!

Crystal, it was just like that!  He inhaled!

Mara, he is a little turkey!

Cam, Tums and a pooper scooper!  Funny!
