I truly enjoy living in LakeLand Village. My husband and I have resided in LakeLand Village for a little over 18 years now. We raised our children here and were welcomed into the community with open arms. A friendly neighbor wave, a smile, neighbors helping neighbors, a close knit community - That's just the kind of place it is!
My husbands parents lived here prior to us moving out here from the east coast. They loved the community and took up permanent residence here in 1975. They knew their purchase of their lot was a wise choice, especially after knowing what the future plans were for for the community and the surrounding area. They were impressed with the "small town" feeling and the location as well. They loved the pristine setting and the convenience it had to shopping, schools and other amenities.
We took up residence in the same house in 1990. I was from a big city in New Hampshire where I met my husband while he was stationed their during his time in the Navy. I knew he wanted to "come back home" to Allyn and when his dad offered us the home, we picked up roots and here we are.
Now I have to tell you, that I had a lot of trepidation about coming here being from the big city! I couldn't imagine living in a small town and not have all the conveniences that I had in the big city. I feared that we were going to "the end of the world here!" What little did I know how much I would come to love it and never want to leave - not even to go shopping!
I couldn't imagine life without a supermarket around the corner, a gas station every 2 feet, pizza delivery, or a mall a mile away. And then it became home.......
It would take an awful lot to get me to leave here now. The slow pace of rural living is in my bones now. I cringe when someone mentions that we might have to go into the big city to shop for something. I would much rather stay home and do without! But at least I know that the convenience is there and close by. Everything you could ever need is easily accessible and within a short driving distance.
Then there are the recreational opportunities. WOW! You name it it too is close by- Boating, fishing, hiking, birdwatching, swimming- so many things to do and see. 
I must say that I have the honor of living in one of the most pristine places in the world to live .The beauty is breathtaking from the Hood Canal to the Puget Sound Waters, from the majestic Olympic Mountains to the "WOW" of Mt Rainier in the distance.
So how does it fair real estate wise? You can't beat the "Location! Location! Location!" and the prices? There are many, many affordable homes available and what a GREAT TIME TO BUY in this BUYERS MARKET! There are so many great opportunities here to live and achieve the "American Dream" of home ownership.
It feels ike home, it is home and there's no place like home and no place I would rather be!
