Every deal is getting a little tougher!

Real Estate Agent with CENTURY-21 CHARLES SMITH
Hi, I just wanted to write and talk about how every deal lately seems to be tempermental and difficult. I started doing real estate 5 years ago and I think I must've had it easy in the beginning. It seemed like I was able to make many of my transaction happen despite my buyers credit or my sellers high price. Now it seems like you really need to be on top of your game if you want to make it in this business. Not only do you have to be at your best, but you need to make sure that if you are working with another agent on a deal, they need to be staying on top of their buyer or seller as well. One slip up and its the whole ball game, folks. You can't leave any detail up to anyone else these days. Follow up on everything YOURSELF!!!! What's the old adage- If you want something done right, do it yourself." Ain't that the truth!

It has been tougher Ryan....thank God for the dropping of rates.  I was able to lock over $3,000,000 in apps last Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ryan, I agree completely. I've noticed everything getting more difficult... and I've only been in the business for 2 years! I just posted the other day ("Shift" Rings True... And I'm Taking Control!) about the importance of doing things yourself to keep everything together. Let's hope things eventually get easier again!

I can't tell you how many times this year I have had to remind myself, and my buyers and sellers, that it ain't over til the fat lady sings!

It seemed each transaction would be on the cusp of demise and then somehow get back on track.  I was lucky.  Many agents in my office were not as lucky.  In fact, it seemed for a while you had to sell each of your listings twice, for the same pay!

Ryan, you make a very good point to follow up on everything. It is getting more and more difficult out there to hold a deal together.
