Did You Know.....

That you can put a frog in water and slowly turn the heat up until it is boiling and the frog won't even notice? It will sit right there until it is dead. Did you know that with every administration that has passed, Republican or Democrat that the American people have lost more and more of their rights. And we sit back and listen to a few "radicals" and "non-conformists" bitch and moan and take no action to stop it. Did you know that under the Bush administration 7 out of the first 10 ammendments were annihilated with the Patriot Act? And the people in this country are so blind and selfish that they will close thir eyes and say, "Oh well that doesn't affect me, so I don't care." Well let me tell you, eventually it will affect you. A few years ago, the City of Tampa was trying to outlaw lap dances. I could care less. I don't watch or give lap dances. But I was a supporter in trying to prevent that law from being passed. It was another way of taking control of the people in our city. It didn't directly affect me at all. But next week the law they pass will. Did you know a piece of legislation, SENATE BILL S.2433 THE GLOBAL POVERTY ACT is in the works that requires all Americans to pay a Global Tax to the United Nations. If passed in the Senate, the House has already passed it, this bill would require the U.S. to increase our foreign aid by $65 BILLION per year, or $845 BILLION over the next 13 years! That's on top of the billions of dollars in foreign aid we already pay out! In addition to the economic burdens this potential law would place on our precarious economy, the bill, if passed in the Senate, would also endanger our constitutionally protected rights and freedoms by obligating us to meet certain United Nations mandates. What are they?

The creation of a U.N. International Criminal Court having the power to try and convict American citizens and soldiers without any protection from the U.S. Constitution.

A standing United Nations Army forcing U.S. soldiers to serve under U.N. command.

A Gun Ban on all small arms and light weapons --which would repeal our Second Amendment right to bear arms.

The ratification of the ' Kyoto ' global warming treaty and numerous other anti-American measures

I don't care who you voted for. If you care about this country, your freedom or the freedom of our children, call your senator, e-mail, write, RAISE HELL!! Tell everybody you know to do the same. Don't just sit there like a frog.

And for those who wish to preserve our country's freedom it would take so little effort to write your senators. The contact info can be found for each at:

You have some interesting points. I agree with your call for using energy. My concern is most do not even use that type energy on there business or personal life so not so sure how much they will do it in politics

Once they chip away at your rights then they can forcibly take them all together. Dont bury your head in the sand! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Edward, I am sorry to say that you are right. I'm trying to impress upon people how important it is to, as Laura said, to "Get your head out of the sand" before its too late. We are coming very close to losing any control over both our business and personal lives. There are some who will take action and I'm just trying to wake the other ones up.

Edward, I would also like to, after reading your blog, say that I believe you made the point in there several times that education is the key. I watched film clips of this past year's election of voters who didn't even know who was in control of congress. People that are not informed and uneducated are making decisions for the entire country. If they don't even know that "redistrbution of wealth" is the core of socialism, how can we expect them to know that certain legislation is being passed that will take away their constitutional right to even have a fair trial, that there is a movement toward centralized government that will destroy everyting that our forefathers fought for; our most precious asset...freedom.

Karen, this country has been moving closer and closer to socialism for YEARS.  I agree with you that our citizens are not educated enough to REALLY KNOW what they are voting on and what the long term impact will be.  Another thing is that Americans not not know what socializm means, or how it is to live under that system.  I should say, a majority od Americans do not know - some of us who grew up in Eastern Europe know what is means, what it tastes like, and... we DON'T WANT IT HERE.

There is so much fluff in the bills noone takes the time needed (ALOT) to read the fine points.  Here is another reason why it is important to do so...

We pay full time representatives to look after our interests and all the care about is themselves.  With the age of the Internet.  What do we really need them for (they need to be fired)?  They are waste of our money.  Why can't we just have the issues up for vote for a week (we would need a small process and screening staff) and citizens can log on and vote themselves.  Stream line the process and give us the control back of our great country. IT COULD HAPPEN..... AND WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN.  Great Post thank you....

Very important post and we wonder why so many Americans are moving to other countries.  The total would make your head spin.  Good comments by Mark Eattson as well.

In light of some other conversations I've had, I would like to mention that this information did not come from a rumor or hear say. I did considerable research on this before I posted it.  My references to the infringement on our Constitutional Rights by what the bill refers to as the United Nations Millennium Declaration came from a CNN transcript in which I quote:

KINCAID: Right. This commits us to spend the money as dictated by the U.N., .7 percent, according to Jeffrey Sachs, who ran the U.N. Millennium Project. It means the United States has been short by $65 billion a year on what is called official development assistance.

BECK: OK. But it also -- it also puts us in line for Kyoto, it also puts us in line for what is also part of this U.N., you know, millennium agreement, of banning all small arms.

Plus, they have a so-called millennium declaration. That actually came out in 2000, which not only commits us to the more foreign aid spending, but calls on countries to implement Kyoto, a ban on small weapons, the children`s rights treaty, the women`s rights treaty."

I would also like to add that even if you would care to dismiss this as so much propaganda, I hardly think a country that has bankrupted their Social Security System and is not able to take care of its own people should be expected to support those in other nations when they are already providing an extravagant amount of aide.
