Recently, it appears as though someone has been spamming my blogs with unsigned-in comments, and comments without a comment ... multiple times! I don't know what is going on, or if anyone else is getting this. If so, I wonder if anything can be done about it?

I just deteted like 12 comments from over several days on an old blog. No comment was actually left, and it was from someone who was either not signed in to the system, or is not even a member.

Although it was nice to see some of my old blogs pop up, I would much rather it was from someone who was actually commenting, instead of just "spamming the system".

I guess no system is perfect, and maybe this can't even be prevented. If anyone has any more information, or answers, I would love to hear from you.

Kevin, I am getting dozens of my old posts hit this way (some of them 10-15 times)----it is recycling them through the current blog roll and thus gaining new comments but I have no clue what it is all about. I have also noticed that the number of comments on these posts don't agree with an actual count of the post's comments.

I've deleted a couple of multiple posts but haven't had any problem with spamming like you're describing. I've actually been quite impressed with the Active Rain system because I get very few email spams even though there are 122,000 members here, which would seem to make it a treasure chest for the spammers.

If I get 10-15 comments like you're describing, I hope they are in one of my featured posts or in one of my blog entries that already has lots of comments since then I'll get more points for them -- LOL.
