A majority of our clients are relo's from out of state. So it is an education process from day one, lots of questions concerning schools, economy, traffic, communities etc. We try to see homes in as many neighborhoods as possible. The first day is usually to get a feel for what the client is interested in. The next day the real house hunting starts, and this is where I made a big mistake when I started in this business. You find a home they have some interest in and you hear it "now you know exactly what we are looking for". Years ago I would yes, I'll make sure to change your search parameters. Now I say, no, I do not know exactly what you are looking for, I have out smarted myself when I think I do know. The first time I narrowed down a search because I THOUGHT I knew, the clients bought a different home with someone else. So I asked them, why did you purchase that particular home with another agent? Well, we were looking on the internet and saw this home, it is not what we thought we wanted, but, we liked it, you never showed us or emailed this home so we used another agent. Now you know exactly what we are looking for? Nope, live and learn...
