He Want /She Wants...A house for 2

Sometimes I think the hardest part of buying or selling a home is agreeing on everything. It is going to have some give and take somewhere down the line. He wants a huge garage- she wants to live in a community with CCR's. He wants acreage, she wants a jetted bath. Maybe you find a home in your price range that has it all, but most of the time someone will have to make a concession somewhere.

If you are in the Market for a new home have you made a list of wants? Have you shopped on-line together to see what you can both agree on? It is important when asking your Realtor for help that you have a basic idea of what you are looking for and why. New houses are coming on the market everyday, and there are terrific deals to be had right now. So if you are starting to look, start with a list, and give a copy to your Agent. Who knows when the deal of the century hits the market- your agent may see it first and have you in mind, because they know that house fits just what you are looking for!

I love the post - just sold a home to a "he wants... she wants" couple relocating to St. Louis.  It was a tough sell to the husband.  But, he now sees the construction almost done and has fallen in love with it.

Dinah, it doesn't matter what HE wants, because SHE will be the decision maker anyway!  (As long as he has a big garage for all his tools and toys, and maybe a basement or den for his cave-man room... he he).  It's proven that in almost every case, the woman makes the final decision on which house to buy.  One reason that it's so important to have an impressive kitchen/bath.

When I'm showing master bedrooms with 2 closets, I say, "the small closet is HIS closet and the large closet is HER closet."  That always gets a big laugh, as they both admit that SHE has twice as many clothes as HE does!
