3 STAGERS - 2 PROVINCES - 1 LISTING

The staging of an occupied property in Vancouver

Staged Bedroom

Jackson West of Reveal Estate recently had the pleasure of working with Andrea Foxman from Home Ingredients and Cheryl-Anne Priest of Inviting Spaces. Andrea and Jackson currently operate home staging businesses in the Vancouver market. To complete the team, Cheryl-Ann, a home stager from Calgary was enlisted.

Even the most seasoned of stagers know that it takes substantial effort to merchandise an occupied home in its entirety. Never mind in a matter of hours. Having faced such demands in the past, the trio knew what had to be done and wasted no time putting their talents to work. Experience has taught these CSP’s™ that in order to take on a project of this scope, organization and planning are crucial. To add to the challenge no additional furniture or accessories were brought in; making the investment in staging even more cost effective for the home seller.

The crew began the staging challenge by repositioning the largest pieces of furniture first. Doing this created a needed sense of flow throughout the property. It also helped define the functionality of each room. Most of the existing artwork was then removed from the walls and organized by color and scale. After thoughtful consideration they relocated the pieces. This allowed them to enhance the homes structural focal points, and especially in the case of the master bedroom, create increased charm. Andrea, Cheryl-Anne and Jackson know that creating appealing interior spaces makes buyers linger, and helps them to imagine living the depicted lifestyle.

Once the furniture and artwork placement was completed, the team finished dressing the property. By paying attention to detail while editing the home owner’s possessions they were careful not to display too many accessories. Doing so allows potential buyers to see the property details instead of focusing on the contents.

Pictured here are some before and after examples of this amazing, one day transformation.

Great Job Jackson! I love to see "team" efforts be so successful! And I love to see transformations where nothing was brought in....although for ME...it seems owner occupied can be alot harder than vacants sometimes. :)

What wonderful before and afters and an amazing job on that whole space....I can't imagine how much work that took.  And your website is fabulous, I just came back from looking at it and love the rollovers and total transformations from room to room!

Jackson - if you lived by me I would just close my company and become your apprentice.  The transformations are amazing and your photography is fantastic.  I need the details.  What camera are you using?

Maureen G - It was a success.  The home owner was shocked (in a good way) when she returned home later in the afternoon.

Teresa - Occupied homes are so much more difficult, that is why my company mostly tackles vacants.

Judy - The table is on wheels and works well in the bedroom. Screams breakfast in bed and who doesn't like that.

Carole - thanks for the compliment on the website. It is always a work in progress and I like the "roll over" effect too!

Maureen H. (aka cookie Maureen) - You are too savvy to be an apprentice. I have the same camera as you do. Love my Kodak, hate the software.

Lori - The team effort came about because of the strict time line (6 hours). It was fun although my calves are killing me 2 days later from all of those stairs.

Kathy - thanks so much for the "5"!

Kimberly W - Thanks for the +ve feedback. The property received 5 offers from the open house. The Realtor is ecstatic.

Sue - I am getting the hang of my Kodak, playing around with the ISO these days. Bright windows are still a challenge, however light pouring in is better than dim rooms.

Hi Jackson;

I have just started on this site and I am addicted to it.  Such as your site, I am finding a multitude of new information and have really found the way you do things great. The before and after pictures above are wonderful and you have captured everything really nicely.  Taking pictures like this is still a challenge for me but I am working on it.  Keep up the good work as I am learning a lot from you and your team.
