God does have a purpose for each one of us. But, what I want to say to you may seem a bit selfish.

You said, you have " desires" these could be very strong desires. That is good. The question you have to ask is who put them in your heart? how did they get there? These certainly can be of God. Why would He not put those thoughts in your heart? He is not in the business of confusing us.

list all of those things that are on your heart. Just write them down. Pray about each. How does the Holy Spirit lead on each. It is amazing what you'll find out. You begin crossing off things from the list. Then, you're down to the two-three choices.

Then, it's a matter of faith. Believing that GOD is trustworthy. When your heart is right, you can trust Him to lead you in the way you should go.

I am believing God's right answer for you and it will be soon.

I am currently doing a course on the Fruit of the Spirit and it has been an eye opener. Work first on your loving relationship with the Father. Fall so deeply in love with Him that your relationship is so close that you are able to hear everything as soon as He tells you. He does have a plan for you and He is trying to tell you, slow down and enter into His love and learn how to hear it.

All I know is this-  When in doubt be still and listen for God's will. It always becomes clear if I am willing to hear. By having the faith to walk the the path I know to be right all else comes as it should, when it should. Sometimes my hearts desire changes after a while and after God shows me things. I just have to remember that I am always right where I am supposed to be, even if I don't know why. Just my experience...God bless you and keep you!

Hi Sonya -- your post is heartfelt, and John March's advice was really good, as was Hugh's heart.  I know of a good strong Christian woman who wrote these words about herself; take heart in them because God is speaking these to me about you:

I once was trying to decide between two paths befoer me, and when I payed about them, the answer came through really clearly- "It doesn't matter". It came so clearly that I actually said "What?" The answer to that as that both options would do what I needed, both were morally OK, neither had a real downside (I had already considered both carefully). God said do whichever one I wanted.

My point is that sometimes we need to move ahead with what we think is best as long as there is nothing wrong with what we are doing. If it isn't where God wants us He will arrange to change it.

You are the apple of His eye and I know you know that. Sometimes all you need is to be still and not think too much. I believe that He gives us our heart's desires.
