I truly believe that our education is never finished. And in our rapidly evolving business landscape, opportunities for skilled virtual assistants are increasing.
Social networking and internet marketing have opened up greater possibilities than ever before to connect with potential new clients and like-minded business affiliates and to create business relationships.
These wonderful, new marketing tools bring with them an additional task list that must be tended daily in order to enjoy the benefits. There are websites to visit, accounts to set up and maintain, posts to read and comment on, blogs to manage, friends to follow, updates and so on. Then there are still other projects to get to: articles to submit, press releases to write, newsletters and autoresponders or drip campaigns to write and schedule for mailing, telephone calls and other marketing activities, website maintenance, and still more. If you don't have a virtual assistant yet, maybe you should hire one - or two!
Which brings me back to education. In my opinion, the time and money we spend on our education is an investment in ourselves, our careers, and our future. Virtual assistants who have the "in-demand" skills will be able to offer these specialized, e-commerce services to the growing numbers of small business owners and internet entrepreneurs. If you are wondering where to find training programs, you might start by looking at these two: the VAClassroom and the Hot Skills Training Program.
Social networking has brought the personal touch back into business style. This low cost method of marketing gives us the ability to make people aware of opportunities to buy products or services that they desire and to trash the idea of selling people on things they don't want.
Woody Allen said, "Eighty percent of success is showing up." When we get on the Internet to associate with others and build business relationships, simply showing up is not enough. We must bring something worthwhile to share and connect with our audience in a sincere and thoughtful way.
(I am a Graduate of the Hot Skills Training Program taught by Tina Forsyth & Cindy Greenway.)
