After so many attempts to tell the world that he is indeed a man of deep faith, I wonder how that is lived out in the case of The One.
Since his election, The One has yet to attend a church service. His excuse--offered by an aide--was that attendance at any church would "cause a disturbance" and he certainly didn't want to do that.
I hear what he is saying about his deep faith, but I don't really see any evidence of it. Former president President-elects (Bush, Clinton) Had no problem "causing a disturbance" in a church after their elections. They went to worship in their Churches, not to the Gym.
Of course, a gym is a great place to get rid of tension, lose afew pounds and come back relaxed. Spending time with God could relieve the tension problem, I suppose--I am not sure about the weight loss.
So, I assume The One sees God as poor subsitute for his fitness goals.
From what I remember the only one whoever really caused any kind of disturbance in any Church that The One attended was Rev Wright.
I can only conclude that The One doesn't really see Church as very important--and that's why he had an aide come up with the lamest excuse. Unless the press makes this some kind of issue, this won't get much attention.
I think hell would freeze over if that happened.
