I've received the following press release from Moscow:
"More than 7,000 visitors storm the Moscow International Property Show
In a time of uncertainty, the Moscow International Property Show continues to show it's dominance on the Russian market reporting a very busy exhibition with a 27% increase in the number of visitors this last weekend.
The 11th Moscow International Property Show took place in Moscow 14&15 November in it's regular location in T-Module exhibition hall in central Moscow. This sold out event attracted 181 Developers and Real Estate specialists from 38 countries who came to Moscow to make business with the substantial numbers of very keen Russian buyers and investors.
"There is a great deal of interest in Russia at this time as traditional markets have collapsed. This has lead to an increase in the number of competitive events taking place in Moscow. One even copied our name and domain! However they failed to bring any visitors" - states Kim Waddoup the Organiser. "Visiting other events with empty corridors we were slightly concerned that the market was flat, however this weekend we proved that our marketing is superior and that there is still so much potential here as we attracted more than 7,000 high quality visitors"
There was also concern that the current financial situation would affect Russian interest in International Real Estate, however these fears were unfounded as even more potential investors crossed through the doors with the organisers announcing that the Moscow International Property Show is declared as a "Crisis Free Zone"
"We have been in this business for 6 years, carefully controlling the growth of our events to match the expansion of the market. So many of our participants are regulars, we listen to them and have used their advice. The results could be experienced last weekend" - Kim Waddoup
"This market is growing, but not at the rate that some foreign organisers seem to think. By controlling the growth we ensure that our participants gain the maximum potential from our events. No rocket science is required to organise an event however to bring so many high quality visitors through the doors requires extensive local knowledge and creative marketing. I am pleased to say that we have both"
However these are not idle claims. All visitors to the Moscow International Property Shows are registered and are given badges with individual bar codes, enabling the organisers to announce exact numbers of visitors. "It is easy to claim high numbers as we do not have any form of independent monitoring in Russia. We are unique in that our numbers are accurate and open to inspection by third parties if required"
The Moscow International Property Shows have been held twice a year since 2003 and have created a benchmark in how other similar shows are rated in Russia. In addition, the aiGroup also organises the Moscow International Investment Shows, The St. Petersburg International Property Shows and the specialised Bulgarian Salons.
