If you ever think that your single vote doesn't count all you have to remember is Measure H hilton-astoria.jpghere in Beverly Hills.  With a race as close as nine votes at one point there is no doubt that there are mixed feelings about the proposed expansion of the famed Hilton-Astoria complex.

Some residents felt that the project was simply too big and would negatively impact the traffic at one of the busiest intersections of Beverly Hills.  At this writing the votes are still being tallied. With over 1,700 voting by absentee ballot this contentious race may not be over for a while.  Both sides are now arguing that in the end the fate of the measure may well be decided by a single vote cast by some one who doesn't even live in Beverly Hills years round.

In Santa Monica, Measure T which sought to limit new development was defeated.
