Holiday Traffic

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I was blessed to be able to go to Dothan Alabama to see some of my family.  I left the day before and the traffic was not bad.  I had a phone call from my son, who lives in the Orlando area.  My daughter inlaw had to have surgery, which was planned, but there were minor complications.  She ended up staying in the hospital a day longer.  My son needed my help and as all you Mom's know.........when children need you, you come a running.

Needless to say, I had my little dog, Missi with me in Alabama, so I had to travel back to Pensacola, Florida on Saturday to make arrangements for her.  The drive to Pensacola was great.....hardly any traffic on that day.   Well, Sunday I was packed and ready to head to Orlando.  I got on the road around 12:30 that day and everything was going smoothly until I got outside of Tallahassee Florida.  There was, indeed, a lot of traffic.  Traffic came to a standstill on the middle of Interstate 10.  Man, was I ever frustrated.  We traveled about 30 miles per hour until the exit for Lake City.  In fact, the traffic was so bad that I had my window down and the guy next to be rolled his down and we chit chatted for a while.........we both knew that it was going to be one of those days.

Ok, on southward to 75.  I thought to myself....this will be good now that I am away from that traffic.  WRONG!  Traffic was just as bad here.  I finally arrived here 11 p.m on Sunday night.

It is good to be here.  I am loving taking care of my family and especially getting some quality time with Brendan, my grandson. I will be leaving here on Saturday and hopefully the traffic will not be as bad going home as it was coming down.

Dianne I hate traveling in traffic.  Hope your daughter in-law is doing better.

I just realized that you live in Pensacola where two of my best friends live also.

Dianne - You made me think of that song "On The Road Again" by Willie Nelson.  Traffic is no fun but sometimes we have no choice but to go with the flow.

Happy Holidays and please keep in touch.

George, I don't mind the traveling part, I just hate the traffic.  Do your friends love Pensacola as much as I do?   Daughter in law is doing better, I will be driving her to the doctor today

Dianne - We generally stay local for the holidays since we are fortunate to have family near.  Our holidays are spent with family and it's a time for us to all get together and share a special day.

I realize that so many have to travel to be with family during these times and wish them a safe trip during their travels.

Hi Dianne, I hope your daughter-in-law recovers quickly.  I know the Dothan area well....my Mother grew up in Hartford and we only recently sold that home.  We do still have some farm acreage a little south, in the huge metropolis of Black.

Best wishes!

Dianne, I too hate sitting in traffic.  What I dislike even more are the people screaming out their windows and honking--as if that's going to help.  I'm glad you had a safe trip though and hope you have a much faster time next time.
