Although on small lots in condensed neighborhoods, the York district comprises an eclectic mix of old and new architecture and residents, from degreed professionals and artists to families to students attending Western Washington University.
This is an energetic and mobile community within walking distance to downtown Bellingham and WWU and great access to the Interstate Highway. Walk down to your very own neighborhood market, Nelson 's Market, or have breakfast or coffee at Marlin's Cafe. This is a very centralized neighborhood in close proximity to all that is necessary ( hospitals, schools and markets) and to all the amenities that Bellingham has to offer,i.e. Whatcom Falls, Fairhaven and Bellingham bay. Enjoy the small community parks, that offer views of Mt. Baker, Garden and Historical clubs and annual picnics. If diversity, sense of community and history is what you seek, this is the York district.
