Professional RE Photography increases a homes perceived value

Services for Real Estate Pros with Compago

Consider using professional photography to best represent your client's home.

According to a recent survey, the use of professional photography increases the perceived value by nearly 12 percent. On a $500,000 home, this equates to an increase in perceived value of $30,000 and $60,000 respectively.

The New York Times reports that using professional photography is essential in marketing Real Estate as well: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/11/realestate/11cov.html?pagewanted=1&ei=5090&en=df26766191f80c8c&ex=1328850000&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss

But the survey was done by a company that DOES photography, virtual tours slideshows!  Not totally unbiased.

The fact remains that amateur snapshots do not best represent a home for sale - or a sellers best interest. The NY Times reported on the importance of professional photography:

To achieve professional results, you must hire a professional. Lighting alone is a key factor in professional photography. In this market especially, there are plenty of listings for buyers to chose from and if you do not use professional photography on a listing you are under-representing a property online.
