Has anyone bought a successful agent's referral business---and made it work? In other words, as agents who have led successful business in real estate decide to retire, what happens to all of their referral business? Does it just dissipate? Or, do they sell or transfer that referral business to a highly qualified agent that can give the same level of expertise?
We all know that selling real estate is more of a relationship building business (networking) than selling bricks and mortar. So, a referral business is developed by obtaining and retaining good personal and business relationships. My hunch is that an individual interested in buying referral business is likely to fail because they haven't established the relationships that the top producer had established. Does anyone agree/disagree with this statement?
