Talking Ethics and Active Rain in Baltimore

The place was packed. Real estate people wall to wall at Chestnut Hill Country Club for a three-hour CE seminar on Code of Ethics. Sure, it's the end of the year and agents need to get their credits. Plus, the price was right - bring hats, gloves, scarves - presents for children. Thanks to Martha Lessner for organizing this seminar.

I did not need the credits because I already took this class while at MAR in Ocean city, but it was convenient, and a break was needed from my featured post that just hit a 100 comments!

Tom DreschlerThe class was sponsored by WCR(Women's Council of Realtors) and REMDA (Real Estate Million Dollar Association), and taught by Tom Drechsler who I knew from the settlement he did for my favorite young couple. After an early morning stop at Target (it opened at 8:00 and the class was at 8:30...no problem) for the admission items, I joined the crowd.

Margaret Rome and Aaron RiceThere were agents from all over including some from my former Floyd Wickman mentor group: Amy Ruth-Remax and Barb Fiertag-Keller Williams, and a number of agents from my former Coldwell Banker company.

As I was waiting for my CE certificate, someone called my name and said,

"You commented on my Active Rain post." Yes, it was Aaron Rice-Keller Williams. A fellow Active Rainer from Baltimore?

Of course, I commented! I asked if he was going to do a post - he hadn't thought about that. So I handed my camera to someone who snapped this photo of Aaron and me. I had taken one of Tom during the session,

and voila - we have a short  Active Rain post!

Gary, It was exciting to meet Aaron and be recognized by a fellow Rainer.

Sharon, So thankful for the small digital camera that we never have to be without.

Steve, The networking is one of the best parts of most seminars. Otherwise, we could get our CE credits on line.

Margaret it was great chatting with you on Tuesday.  I see your name everywhere from print advertising to the MLS.  It was an honor meeting you in person.  I love it when icons like yourself are willing to share and help younger agents raise the bar of this profession.  I can't wait to read your new book Real Estate the Rome Way!  Make it a great day!

Margaret - I, too, enjoy my CE classes. I often get to catch up with Realtors that I know but seldom see. I haven't had the opportunity to meet any AR members but anticipate that changing in 2009! Once again you remind all of us to keep the faithful camera handy!!!

Connie, Don't forget to keep that camera battery charged if you don't keep it with you.

Maybe the Rainers need to have something special to be recognized. Any ideas?
