Economic solution - eliminate the problem

As we hear the latest  layoff news, has anyone asked why we still have not seen any layoffsnotices coming from Congress?  With the internet efficiencies, I would think tht cutting back our representation to one Senator per state and half the number of Congressmen would cut significant costs from our budget.
Think of the number of staff that would cut and the number of local offices that would no longer be needed.  After all, does anyone believe that the survivors would not do just as good a job at twice the nmber are doing today.

Now we should not let the individual states off the hook either.  Cut the bodies that were incharge and don't replace them.

I know, their jobs are critical.  __ _ _ _   _ _ _ _!  Fill in the blanks and have a great day!

They could also start using Virtual Assistants instead of the plethora of in-office assistants milling about not doing anything critical. That also could cut down a lot on salaries.

Well, it looks like I might have kicked a hornet's nest and may have set an AR record for comments within the first 15 minutes.  Thanks for the comments.  Any ideas on how to keep the list growing and then the best way to get some visibility outside the community?  We would truely be in Camelot if those who are charged with the responsibility to lead, take Rich Shuman's suggestion that they work for $1/year until they fix the economy and Kathy Toth's suggestion to get the "plethora" (of assistants) out of here!

Thanks to all for the comments - have a great day!
