Help....will someone please give me a clue....

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners

AR is a great place... and I need help to be able to use it better.  I have some questions and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for in FAQ's.

I would like to find a step by step on how to increase my associations.  Is that something I can do? Or is something that needs to come from someone else?

Also, I have seen numerous listings being shown is that via a specific group or is that something that can be done from my site?

How can I include logos in my profile? I tried to search on the URL box but nothing happened...what else do I need to do?

I would like a place that I can review and follow instructions to accomplish these and whatever else I come across in the future.  Is there a place that will do this?

Ok fairly new and would like some help and patience.

Thanks to anyone that provides any help and bigger thanks for the extreme details.

P.S. I'm one of the few that actually uses the manual.

Heda:

I'll take a shot at answering three of these questions with my opinions.

1. "I would like to find a step by step on how to increase my associations.  Is that something I can do?" One of my favorite musical artists is Chuck Brown. He has a saying. In order to make a friend, you got to be a friend. Change the word friend to ASSOCIATE and you have your answer.

2. I use Postlets.com to put listings on my blog. After you got through their user-friendly process, they will give you some HTML code that you will cut and paste into your HTML TAB when writing an ActiveRain blog.

3. If you look under this above the COMMENTS SECTION and below your blog post, you will see a logo that says "Bookmark". If you click that logo, it will save that particular post for future reference.

If you need any other assistance, please feel free to give me a call.

Welcome to The Rain!

Heda - let me try to tackle the first one - to add associates click on the person's photo (like yours on the right hand side) and it takes you to their profile page. Above their name is the button ADD as an associate (or something like that). Click on that if you would like to add that person as your associate. Once you click on it you get a screen that will prompt you to select a group - where and how you would like to group them. eg. Realtor, stager, loan officer etc. If you do not see a group you think that person fits into you can create a group right below the existing groups. Then just click add (I think that's what the button says, but not sure).

I do this individually for each person I want to add as an associate.

If you have questions about it let me know I'll be happy to help. ~Rita

Thanks for the post Heda.  I am not that new to Active Rain but I don't use it nearly enough to know about what is going on.  The best part of the site for me is reading the posts and seeing the comments from other agents.  It is good to hear their ideas and know that other agents are out there going through the same things in other markets around the country.  I hope this helps and thanks again!

Heda,

Definitely join the Newbies group.  You will see featured blogs with alot of helpful information.  After joining the Newbies group - add this blog to it and you will get many comments on how to do the things you've asked.

IF you don't know how to find the groups let me know and I'll be happy to assist you.  When you look at a group there is a tag to click on that says "join group", once you've joined and I recommend to read the rules--- you can post there.

Have fun!

April has the right idea (darn it, she said it before I did! LOL).  The Newbies Group is a great place to get started and learn some of the ins & outs of the community.

Welcome to the 'Rain:  you're getting a good start!  Thanks for associating with me...it always makes me feel good to meet new people here.
