A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR YOU

By

Oh how I love you

your heart's so warm and true

so far away from home my son, I go on missing you.

My heart travels back in time to when you were a boy

 watching your excitement

as you unwrap your Christmas toys.

Now you are a young man and must make it on you own

Falling Falling to the bottom

to a place so all alone.

I am told that it is in that place where you will finally be

able to see yourself

as the man who holds the key...

I need strength, must be strong to resist the urge within

to swoop on in and fix it all

make it right for him.

So as I ponder and fret for weeks, a Christmas gift for you?

No more worries, I BELIEVE

AND I HAVE FAITH IN YOU.

MERRY CHRISTMAS JACOB, I LOVE YOU!

Laurie that is a great post and tribute to your son.  I am sure he misses you too though they sometimes don't tell mom that.

Morning Laurie,

Being a parent isn't always easy and fun. Especially when our children grow and spread their wings. I have two son's grown with families of their own now and I might add, back in the nest so to speak. The years that they were "finding themselves" were very difficult times for us. So happy to have them back as grown, loving, caring, sharing men.

Letting his know, as you have, that he is loved, missed and wished well is a very important factor during this growth period.

Thanks for sharing.

Jacob answers my calls nearly everyday. Yes, I can be such a pain. I tell him I will call ONLY once a day to check on him and say hello. He reciprocates with "I love and miss you too, mom, but..... How about if I call you if something is wrong? So no news is good news." He is patient with me and so kind hearted even though I know I am driving him crazy. I am usually not this bad but 3 weeks ago he became homeless after having a bad fight with his father of whom he has lived with and worked for since June......he had job interviews today and doors are beginning to open for him. He has found temporary residence, thank God. He is finding himself.

I may be loosing sleep but he is growing up. Thank you Russ and Harold. Your encouraging words are comforting and encouraging.
