The Gladwin County, Michigan Festival of Lights Christmas Parade is this Saturday, December 6th at 6:00 pm. It is a gorgeous display of lighted Christmas Floats, marching bands, 3-4 Macy's Thanksgivng Day Parade-like balloons, and of a course a very special guest at the end....Santa Claus!!!
Bring your whole family before the parade to downtown and enjoy hot chocolate at the Blue Ribbon Bakery or a cup of coffee from Northern Espresso! Browse some of the specialty shops like, Wards, Simply Charmed and Rochara's and you might find that special gift for someone on your list.
At Riverwalk Place you can see Nick & Baby Holly; REAL Reindeer. They will be there for you take pictures of and pet! Riverwalk Place also offers festive carriage rides through the city.
Dress warm!!! Most people wear snow boots, hats, gloves, snowpants; the whole works!
Last year the parade was attended by thousands of people (even during a snowstorm!) and there were over 100 entries into the parade! Following the parade the public is invited to the park where the floats will be parked for viewing by the public up close, and a 20 minute long firework displaywill take place! If you haven't seen fireworks amidst the crisp December night sky, you have to attend!
