According to the National Weather Service, January 1978 holds the record. Many monthy and seasonal records were broken. The monthy snowfall for January 1978 was 31.5 inches which was the highest amount of snow for any month. The greatest snowfall for the season was also broken during 1977-1978 with a seasonal total of 53.9 inches.
