This has been one of the hardest posts for me to write. Generally I have too much to say. This was something I really wanted to think about and I have.
What I would really like to have is More of the Same.
That's right. I would simply like to have another year like this one. We are nearing the end of this year with the same loved ones in our lives as we had when the year started. This may seem like a small thing but as you get older you will appreciate the importance of this.
Our health is still very similar to what it was on January 1, 2008 other than a few extra aches and pains. You'll understand that also some day.
I witnessed a year where I had the opportunity to vote for an extremely well qualified woman as the presidential nominee of a major party. When there weren't enough votes for that I had the opportunity to vote for another outstanding candidate for president and this one just happened to be African-American.
During the year we had lots of family events to attend. What the heck, I love going to field hockey games, basketball games, cross country meets, flag football, soccer mataches, dance performances, plays, graduations (from middle school), horse shows, and the list goes on and on. Plus there was still plenty of time for just plain fun too.
My love for photography was reawakened. (Thank you Active Rain.) What a joy that has been.
I discovered Active Rain and many wonderful people. Although I joined in 2007 I really got going in 2008.
Real estate was especially good for me this year. I exceeded my expectations and my goal by almost 50%. I cannot ask for more in that department.
My list goes on and on but as you can see, there are many reasons to wish for More of the Same.
For you, I am wishing more of what was wonderful in 2008 and less of what was not so good.
My old fashioned Santa photo was taken in Whittingham's, a very special shop in Fredericksburg.
