From the Naval Safety Center, a few tips on Christmas Tree safety.
- Make sure you use proper lights for outside and inside use. If you do not know if your lights should be used outside, don't guess.
- Regardless of how handy you or your spouse is, throw away frayed lights and cords.
- Keep the tree at least three feet from the fireplace, furnace, ect.
- Lights on a metal tree = bad.
- Please unplug your tree when you go to bed or are leaving.
