From the Naval Safety Center, a few tips on Christmas Tree safety.

  • Make sure you use proper lights for outside and inside use.  If you do not know if your lights should be used outside, don't guess.
  • Regardless of how handy you or your spouse is, throw away frayed lights and cords.
  • Keep the tree at least three feet from the fireplace, furnace, ect.
  • Lights on a metal tree = bad.
  • Please unplug your tree when you go to bed or are leaving.

Please visit the web site below for more tips!

Have a joyous holiday!

Did you mean crappy blogger or crabby blogger???

Considering the number of folks who die in fires caused by tree lights each year, is it worth the risk??

I've seen many beautiful trees without lights.

Make sure the batteries in the smoke detectors are new. Its a tip that could save lives as well. Inside lights need to be heavily inspected. Your not crappy!
