The Hubris of Government "Solutions"

By

Greek masksWith hubris befitting a Greek tragedy, Senator Chris Dodd is saying that Rick Wagoner should step down as CEO of GM.

"I think you've got to consider new leadership," Dodd is quoted in an AP article.

I think Dodd is right in that Wagoner has been part of leading one of the world's great companies into decline.  This is no defense of Wagoner.

But Dodd, who, as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, had a huge role to play in advocating the lax lending policies that are a leading factor in the real estate and mortgage problem we now have, should likewise "move on."

Only in politics can a bum who was either too stupid to see the consequences of his actions or to greedy and power hungry to stop be allowed to dictate solutions and blame others for the problems he caused.

All these dirtbag politicos, whether they have an R or a D after their name, should be run out of office, run into prison, if possible, and shunned by society as a whole.  It is way past time for us to insist on having grownups in government.

harsh words...but unfortunately all too true in most cases. Good post.

Yeah, harsh words, but these guys are really pi$%@!ing me off.  These characters (again, both Rs and Ds) and their arrogance leave me seething.  The truly sad part is that the majority of Americans seem to have bought into the notion that our problems can be solved by politicians.  Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, Madison and the rest must be weeping in heaven.
