Digital Cameras-Does SIZE really Matter?

By

Next to a cell phone, pager and pc, many would agree that having a good digital camera is among the most valuable tools any Realtor can have.

Although I am by no means an expert in the field, I would venture to guess that those who are would be the first to admit how important it is to understand and learn the functionality of whatever camera you may have.

Too often, people will (after price) consider Megapixel Size as the most important factor in the purchasing decision.  Furthermore, many individuals will often associate having a good digital camera with taking good digital.

As a wise (some argue, a humble liar) woman once said, it's not the SIZE that matters, it's how you USE it that counts.  It's not the size of the racquet, but how well you volley.  It's not the size of the fishing pole, but how well you cast.  It's not the size of the popcorn, it's how well it pops....I digress.

The fact of the matter is Megapixel size only becomes a genuine issue if you plan to print over-sized portraits.  Learning how to master the features of your camera to compensate for the subject matter is far more critical. Proper light and flash, conditions, for example, will add far more to the end result than megapixel size.

For a great resource on digital cameras and photography, I'd encourage you to visit www.dpreview.com.  It is a great site and offers a very comprehensive buyer's guide in case you're in the market for a new camera.

Cheers.

Yse, to a degree, the size of the megapixels, gives you the results to follow, the more megapixels the better the image on larger pictures, the more pixels on a frame, however, a camera with 3.2 megapixels gives you excellent pictures, as you said it is how it is used.
