The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardenis located in the Avondale area of Cincinnati. The facility's location makes it unique among other zoos in the country because of its urban setting as compared to many others which where establised in suburban areas.
The Zoo opened in 1875 and is the second oldest zoo in the United States. Founded on 65 original acres it is nicknamed "The Sexiest Zoo in America" because of its world renowned breeding programs.
One of my favorite exhibits is Giraffe Ridge. It has been completely renovated and you can feed snacks to the Maasai giraffes that reside there. They seem to smile and really appreciate your company!
