Following the local media reports and hearing 4 discussion groups in the area in the last 2 weeks it is clear that the home market in the area is strong. In a previous post I had indicated that the last 3 months have shown a decrease in inventory ( a sign that homes are selling well in the area) and second, values had stabilized (another good sign for the local economy and an indication that there is a demand for homes in the area. I had been initially concerned about lake front homes not moving as quickly but again recent MLS reports have indicated a small increase in lake front home sales. So put a long story short the Avon Lake and surrounding communities appear to be doing better.
Avon Lake itself has added a new city park from existing "save the trees" space and a new outdoor pool has been approved on the ballot in November and should be in place in a year. The schools are rated amoung the best in Lorain and near Cuyahoga county area. While local sports are so demanding in the area there is early sign up for many city sports as early as a 4 months prior to start. The neighboring city of Avon has had a large increase in store fronts and businesses that have included a new JC Penney's, Lowes, Kohl's, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, to just name a few.
As well as growth in health care facilities, a soon new YMCA, a minor league baseball team scheduled to be here in a year. WOW can I say more. This is a time to consider Avon Lake for relocation in Cleveland area.
