How is your market ??

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

Well I must say business is slow for me right now.  Doing all the things in order to attempt to

aquire more business. Going after FSBO, Expired listings , and talking to potential buyers.

Seems folks are  holding back due to the economy situation.  Even bragging to them about

recent mortgage rates and an all time great rate, does not seem to faze them.  I am just wondering if

you are finding out the same responses from your attempt to aquire more business.

Jim,

Texas is great.  It is hard for people to believe that when  every time they turn on their TV's all they hear is doom and gloom.  We need positive spins, low interest rates, etc. but the media doesn't jump on THAT bandwagon.

Our media is not being very positive, nationally or locally, which is scaring a lot of people.  They are surprised when I tell them we are still selling homes regularly (not as many as I would prefer, but business is still there).  Mortgage rates are amazing, prices are right, buyers just need to get off the fence!  We just need to keep spouting positiveness!

Hi Jim - Ohio seems to be moderate right now.  I'm still busy and am about to sign up a new listing this week.  This one came from my sphere of influence.  I have found that even some of my buyers are beginning to hedge a bit with all the negative media.  I do try to encourage them by letting them know this is their time to buy.

New Hampshire is great, as far as December goes.  I have a ton of qualified buyers right now, very happy.

Hi Jim,  As Gary Keller says in the Shift book when shifts happen you must significantly increase your lead generation.  Whenever a shift occurs potential clients get fewer in number. What would have been a marginal buyer in the 'good market' now becomes a good buyer.  What used to be a good buyer, becomes a great buyer in this market.   It sounds like you may want to improve your lead conversion numbers. Michigan has been in a difficult market for a while now, although there are some bright spots.

Jim, our market is slower than it was, but homes are still moving, especially the smaller first time buyer type homes.

My market is great, out in the old West Chesapeake frontier!!! my last FSBO that I thought was going to with me put out a realtor hate mail.  so other than that great.  I hope all is well down south my friend.
