Dec 14 @ 3pm
Fairfax Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Pops Concert
Where? GMU Center for the Arts. 4373 Mason Pond Drive, Fairfax.
The Fairfax Choral Society and the W. T. Woodson High School Select Vocal Ensemble return to join the Symphony for renditions of the season's most beloved tunes. FSO Associate Conductor, Glenn Quader, shares the podium with Dr. Douglas Mears, Music Director of the Choral Society, and Michael Ehrlich, Director of the W.T. Woodson Chorus. The program delivers a wide variety of pieces to set a festive mood for the holiday season. The Orchestra offers heartwarming renditions of Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland and Russian Christmas Music by Alfred Reed; the Fairfax Choral Society sings the hauntingly beautiful Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella, and the Woodson Select Vocal Ensemble delights the audience with a DoWop version of I Have a Little Dreidl. Other festive pieces include the east coast premiere of Christmas Card written by the FSO's own Mark Stephenson, and a Christmas carol sing-along to round out the program. (Shhhhh! Don't tell the kids, but Santa Claus will be greeting them in the lobby, and leading the audience sing-along!) For ticket information please call 1-888-945-2468. www.fairfaxsymphony.com.
