Loving North Carolina

Being the member of a large family, I hear from them on our family site (Yahoo has group sites that are free and absolutely awesome for keeping the whole family up to date) almost daily.  Sure does make me appreciate living in North Carolina.  My sister Mary lives in the Rocky Mountains at about 8,000 ft elevation.  Her email today mentioned expecting 2 feet of snow that would likely knock out her electricity.  This past winter they had so much snow they had to have a front end loader come remove some cause there was no place left to plow their driveway's snow to.  But, today is April 24th; having two feet of snow is out of MY realm of reality.  Thank you very much!  My sister Cathi, who lives near San Diego, Cal., calls me for the weather, cause she says she has none.  Hers is pretty much the same, everyday, all year long.  My niece in upper New York state had her sewer pipes freeze one winter.    So, when we have a little late cold weather that freezes the fresh new growth on the trees and nips the azalea blossoms, I can live with that.   By the way, the dead and damaged leaves are already falling off the trees soon to be replaced with fresh new growth.  Ta da, we get spring twice!  Even the pollen is back already.    So enjoy our beautiful and mostly mild weather; enjoy our warm sun; enjoy our azure blue skies; enjoy the chartreuse green leaves and lush grass; just enjoy!    It is always a joy to come home to North Carolina after a trip.  We are truly fortunate to live in such a temperate climate with good rainfall and the corresponding flora.   Have a Happy Spring!

I'm with you! After visiting family in Kentucky and Michigan, I really appreciate Myrtle Beach a whole lot more each time.
