pleasedontreadme@boringemails.com ( Just a few e mail tips )

Services for Real Estate Pros with Allstate Insurance Company

I have read many posts on how to “blog” effectively.  I have to admit I am not the most skilled at the very appealing & flashing blogs out there in Activerain land.

However, I was reading about something I think is worth of all paying a little more attention to, the e mail.

If you have noticed you receive very few replies to your e mails, you might want to do an e mail review.

Just a few tips I have read and put into practice.

  •        Review your e mails.  Would you reply to an e mail you sent?  ( Not literally but I think you get the point )
  •       Have a very clear subject line.  Never leave it blank.
  •        If you write a book, make it a 60 second one.  If it is much longer, you are likely losing your reader.
  •       Make it pleasing to the eye.  Use a template.  Try a company logo.

In parting, I can say I work to tweak these types of communications daily.  Are you?

Great tips.  And very useful.  I do have to admit that if e-mails are to long, I will not read them.  So other people will do the same thing.

Yes, long e-mails definitely lose my attention and I tend to use the scroll button to get to the delete tab.  Also, sometimes e-mails without subjects get into my bulk folder and I scan my bulk folder briefly but if it doesn't have a subject I may not know I am missing an important e-mail.  Thanks for sharing.

Ladies-  Thanks to both of you.  I suggest we all take the time to review what we send if we want to maximize our results in persons reading our own e mails :)

Jeff, one more good piece of advice.  Before you hit "send" ask yourself:  "Is it OK if this email is read by my family, my best friend, my clients, the real estate commission, the IRS?"  If the answer is no, then rewrite because it very well may be read by any or all of those people

Great advice, I like the short posts with a picture or two the best.

Jeff, good points. Like posts, emails should be short and to the point. Thanks for the reminder.

All-  Great advice.  My hardest thing to remember is putting a good description on the subject line.
