media and real estate

Real Estate Agent with ReMax Achievers

Do you ever feel the media is trying to put us out of business?  All we hear on the news is the dire consequences of the economy and the real estate market.  Well, they need to look at some of the positives:

Interest rates are really low right now meaning a larger house can be purchased for the same payment as a smaller house just 2-3 years ago.  Many people actually have very stable jobs in health care, transit, teaching, public safety, etc.  These folks are stable and have housing needs.  They get married, divorced (hopefully not, but it happens), have children, become empty nesters decide to stop being renters and move in and out of the areas.  So, while the real estate market is "depressed" and in a "recession" I plan on being there to help all the folks mentioned above.

Hi Sue,

Great post. :)

Although I don't blame the media, the current economic events are indeed newsworthy, and possibly historic.

You simply have to control what you can control and communicate what you know about your local market.
