Something really good from something really bad

My Mother passed away this morning. She had been pretty ill for a few years. She is free of pain now.

While we were at the cremation place making arrangements, I happened to ask about her pacemaker. It turns out they will explode if they are not removed. There is a check box about them on one of the 300 forms you have to sign. They treat it as a bio hazard and dispose of them.

Here is the cool part. I was able to donate her pacemaker to the University of Tennessee Vet Hospital for use in animals. She would have found this very cool. When he told me about this, I immediately felt better.

My condolences to you and your family Jack.  I lost my mom 8 years ago and it is difficult at best.
