Blogging Incentives

By
Real Estate Agent with eXp Realty & Working The Magic, LLC

I'm working with our office(s) on blogging and it seems that a few agents have really embraced blogging while the masses of agents are generally either uncomfortable with blogging or they don't see the long term benefits of blogging.  I'm interested in getting commentary back on what have been some incentives that have worked to get agents to blog.  Obviously ActiveRain as a blogging platform provides points and ranks agents based on the number of blog posts which encourages bloggers to blog and those who are on top to stay on top.  As a real estate company of course one of the major benefits of blogging should be agent branding and awareness in the online community, direct phone calls etc...

I'm all ears on what has worked for you.

All the Best,

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE SEO!  Make sure you put the right tags and links in your post for the google GODS to come and gobble up and put you high up in the rankings!  There is so much google juice here on AR it is ridiculous.  After you have been here for a while you start to learn what I am talking about...

I don't think you can force anyone to blog, incentives or not.  Look at how many people sign up on AR and never write a single post.  Leave the blogging to those who are comfortable and perhaps when they see the success they might decide to give it a try.

I have found that blogging has helped me in all my presentations.  Organizing my thoughts, writing a post and commenting have all made me much more comfortable when meeting with clients, sellers and buyers.  I know what I need to say, and the best way to say it!

Listening to your Needs

You have to be noticed. I have a website for my niche that does well so I wanted to keep my spot and improve so I now have the blog and site on page one of google for New Orleans Condos. it allows you to be in front of people with both formats. Present and past clients are more likely to visit you on a blog. New prospects to the site. So get both. Find a niche where you can excell.

Integrity, Experience, Enthusiasm!

Like so many aspects of business, everyone gravitates toward the thing they love and are good at.  I blog, my partner/husband doesn't like it at all. No amount of incentive would get him to blog.  On the other hand, he'll cold call any day...not me!
