Mortgage and Lending with Charter Funding

Hello Everyone,

My name is William Gussie and I am a Senior Loan Officer with Charter Funding in Dallas, TX.  Many of you are probably wondering who Charter Funding is, so let me give you a brief history about the company and myself.

Charter Funding is the retail arm of First Magnus Financial Corp.  First Magnus is the nations largest privately help mortgage bank.  The company started in Tucson, AZ with about five loan officer in 1997.  The had a vision to become one of the best service oriented companies in the industry.  Now, when you start out as a mortgage company you are on the bottom of the list, if you're lucky enough to be on the list, of the best and largest mortgage lenders.  Countrywide, Washington Mutual, and Wells Fargo are on the top.  But in the seven years that the company has been around, we have went from the bottom of the list to #15.  I would say that is a remarkable achievement!   First Magnus is actually on pace to be in the #5 spot by 2008.  I think this shows you that we are serious about our business and how it's done!  Now about myself.

I have been in the mortgage industry for little over 6 years and have had the opprotunity to do more than just be an originator.  I'm one of the few people that have had the fortune to be an underwriter, processor, originator, and appraisal review.  This is something that has been able to set me apart from your typical loan officers.  Another thing that sets me apart from most other loan officers is that I hate to talk about rate and programs.  I'm sorry, but most companies have basically the same rates and programs out there.  The thing that I like to talk about is my service.  My service is what has made me successful during my 6+ years originating.  I believe that everyone should know what is going on throughout the loan process; whether it be good, bad, or ugly.  If you (the real estate agent) are not aware of what's going on, how is your client suppose to have respect or confidence in you.  Plus, this will lessen the chances of you getting referral business.  And lets face it, with out referrals most of us would not still be in the business.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me.

Thank you,

William Gussie                                                                                                                                          Senior Loan Officer
