Minor repair is a good idea--I mention this to all my listing clients, however I draw the line at major renovations. It isn't worth the expense and effort to, for instance, do a kitchen remodel as an incentive to buy the home. Instead, price the home accurately for it's condition. Spend your dollars on your next home, if necessary.
