For those of you who don't know me, I was born and raised in the Chicago area, and have the fortune (misfortune?) to be a fan of the Cubs baseball team. My daily mood is often predicated by the Cubs' success, which means I have a tendency to be grumpy most of the summer, since winning baseball has proved elusive on Chicago's north side.
Today, Mark Prior, once a promising young pitcher, had shoulder surgery and will not pitch again until (at the earliest) next year. Uff da...oh, well. Maybe the Twins will be as fun to watch as they were last year.
