Inauguration Rentals High In DC - but there ARE takers for the historical event

I am helping another VA who is helping her client, post a 4 bedroom rental home for the Oxon, Maryland area which is inside the beltway and about two traffice lights from the DC line.  It's also a mimimum cost of $1,000 per night to rent the house.  That's more reasonable than most offered.

In researching the sites and online places to post the information, I am astounded at the cost of these rentals, though I shouldn't be, it was the same thing when the Olympics came to Atlanta and people were outrageous in their prices for renting out their home.

The irony is how much it will cost someone to not only go to the inauguration, but to rent housing, transportation, meals and travel expenses on top of that not to mention all the events and souvineers retailers hope to sell in DC.

I even wonder if people will really get to see the President and his family with all the crowds that are expected.  I imagine security will be quadrupled for sure!  It should be....in this day and age...who knows, someone might throw a SHOE at Obama...

At any rate, it is a wonderfully exciting event with many many people hoping that good change, though not quick enough, will be coming.  I know all the agents out there are ready for a change in the industry.  I also know the virtual assistants have been picking up slack for those companies who have laid off their full time help...which is good, but not under these circumstances.

Here's hoping for a PROSPEROUS New Year, and a safe and peaceful one as well.  Enjoy the holidays my friends at Active Rain.

Oh Yes, if you happen to WANT to rent that place, email cowgirlclark@gmail.com or call her at 972-805-4688.  She is a virtual assistant in Texas helping out a client in trying to rent out her home in Maryland.

Howdy Mary Beth - I found your Blog after goggling AR's who are part of Blog Radio.  Anyway, an interesting post as the Zillion Dollar question will be the Weather.  Luckily my wife and I locked our airfare and housing up in August as we felt Obama would win.  Once the holidays are over I am sure things will pick up and your place will be rented because of the fervor or folks not wanting to miss this "once in a lifetime opportunity."

Anyway, keep blogging and let me know the details of your BlogTalk radio experience, but more important......have a peaceful and happy holiday season.
