My Holiday Shopping Experience

By
Real Estate Agent with Laura L. Bieker

I braved the cold weather and sporadic drizzle yesterday to enter the stores, short list in hand, budget in mind.  I wandered the aisles, made my selections, and listened to the holiday music overhead.  Taking my time and consulting the list, surprisingly, it ended up being a very enjoyable experience.

Each time I encountered someone in the small aisles, people were polite.  The checkout person was kind.  The stock people that I passed smiled.  In a very short time, I was finished.  No headache occurred, no blood was spilled, within budget and done!

Like many, with these harder times, I somewhat dreaded beginning this adventure yesterday.  However, I plunged ahead and on the other side.....was pleasantly surprised.

May all of you enjoy your holiday experience as much as I did mine.  May it be what it should be -- an adventure to select gifts that are practical, useful, and that will make someone else smile!

Laura, I was dreading Christmas shopping too.  When I finally decided to do it, it wasn't bad at all. Like you, I selected gifts that were practical and useful.  For my Dad, I bought consumable goods, good hand soap, gourmet foods, flourescent light bulbs, etc. I knew he wouldn't want "stuff" to store, display or clean. Happy Holidays!
