Getting ready for our first big snowfall of the season - what to do?

By
Real Estate Agent with Colonial Properties LLC

Many of the schools here in the Boston area announced yesterday that they would be closed today, based on our weather reports expecting 6-12 inches of snow.  So, many of us are probably working from home today, perhaps because the kids are home from school or just to avoid the traffic tangles that can occur when everyone in a 20 mile radius decides to drive home at the same time during a snowstorm.

Today (or any snow day) is a great day to catch up on those tasks you've been putting off:

  • Clean and organize your home office/desk
  • Read and discard old email
  • Update your website content
  • Write a post to your blog!

Of course, it's also a great time to connect with your database - many of them are going to be home as well, if they live in your local area - so give them a call!  Tell them how much you appreciate their business and referrals.  Offer to connect them with a contractor or professional, or answer any real estate related questions. And don't forget to ask for more referrals!

The Holidays are a great time to let your clients know you care.  Don't get too wrapped up in your family events, shopping, etc., to forget those that help you keep your family fed and clothed - your clients.

Happy Holidays to everyone on Active Rain!

I flew into michigan last night from my home of Orlando. I feel like I am in a snow globe. I believe we have a good 4-6" already and someone is still shaking the snow globe around.

Atlanta and Orlando are both great areas (I've visited many times and have friends/family in both places).  But, I must admit, I do love the snow and the change of seasons.  Enjoy the snow in Michigan!

The Cape is getting ready, at least here in Falmouth.  If we get hit, usually everyone gets hit.  But the big storms often miss us.  My sister called from CA last week to check on how her house was doing because she'd seen the ice storm reports.  I told here it was 60 degrees and the sun was out.  I like being on the Cape when that happens!

I know I could get some office work done but I still think like a kid, I just want to play. It's like God telling me a stopped the world for you now have some fun and relax your office work will still be there tomorrow but today is just for fun and family.
