When buying a foreclosed home...

By
Home Inspector with Reassurance Home Inspection LLC

As a home inspector I cannot stress enough the importance of using an inspector that is actually going to do his or her job. There are some unique problems with foreclosure homes that many inspectors just don't look for. This is mostly true with homes that have had the heat turned off through a winter or two. Many of these problems are substantial and are going to be costly to fix if severe. Remember, if the inspector you are using does not catch these problems now, when you go to sell, the next inspector may. Then they start beating you down on price. BE CAREFUL! Choose your inspector wisely. This is one of the biggest purchases you make in life. Spending a few hundred now can save you thousands later. If you have questions I would be happy to help you whether you use me or not. If you have any question about a home, home repair, or maintenance give a call. Just don't get "ripped off" or pay to have a detailed inspection and instead get an hour and a half inspection and little or no useful information.

Good Luck,
