Only 3 shopping days left and I'm throwing myself in the middle of them!

I love my real estate career.  But a few times per year I accept a phone call from the manager at my previous job working at a women's boutique.  Every summer when I would come home from college, I worked at this shop and everyone was so wonderful to me, so when the owner of the shop asks me to work Black Friday weekend and around Christmas, I usually jump at the chance to come out of retail retirement for a few weekends.  This year I have been so busy with real estate (fortunately), I have only been able to say yes to a few days.  It is so much fun, even though I am busy with my real 'job' I love spending time with old co-workers, seeing people I know who are shopping (I catch lots of my friends/acquaintances doing some last minute shopping!), and it gives me an excuse to go shopping myself...since I'm right there.  I spend more money than I make but I love the holiday spirit.  Yes, there are a few grinches who are annoyed at having to stand in line for ten minutes but for the most part, everyone is in a good mood, spending money, listening to Christmas music and spending time with their shopping buddies.

So for all of you last-minute shoppers, I will be right there with you today and tomorrow finishing up my gift list.

I too am a slave to the Holiday Retail Season. I have been in retail of some form since I was 13 years old. No, I will not tell you how many years ago that was. I had a part time job at a local retailer this year and they also ask me for help at this time of year. Like you, I have been very busy with my Credit Repair business, but can't stay away. I have given them some time again this year. It is fun to watch all the crazies running around.  Better them than me!!

I wish you and your loved one a wonderful season!!

Happy Monday!

It would be fun to go back to past employers and enjoy those folks for a few days a year.  I think this is a wonderful choice.

Vickie - Yes, I am enjoying my break, but will be glad for a day to actual relax.  Today I will get the rest of my shopping done and then gladly stay away from the mall for a few days.

Jim & Maria - Thanks, I like to think they don't mind me coming back for a few days...better than the alternative. =)

Lori - There are plenty of crazies, that's for sure!  I always forget how tiring retail is but I still can't say no!

Pat -  A few days a year is just enough time to reconnect.  I'm fine with visiting the rest of the year!  Have a happy New Year!

Valerie - Thank you.  A few days a year is just enough time to spend...don't want to wear out my welcome.

Jeremy - Yes, I have a few people left on the holiday list...I think I will even brave Wal-Mart this afternoon.  I work at Gemini Boutique.  There is one at the mall and one at Broadway.  I started at Broadway in the summer of 2002 and they still rope me back in whenever I will let them.  =)  Does your wife like Brighton, Vera Bradley, or Pandora?  If she does, I'm sure you're familiar with the store.  Oh and KayBee toys is going out of business and everything is on sale if you need any last-minute presents for your princess!
