I'm sitting with a local realtor at the moment going over some social media sites and blogging strategies. Having many blogs already msyelf, blogging on Active Rain doesn't feel like a strong beneficial option, mostly due to time constraints and trying to manage all these different sites. That said, for himself, Active Rain is a brilliant option.
His question this morning related to where does he write his blog post - "On all social media sites?" he asked.
No, not verbatim.
As with this example, I'm talking about blogging practices. So a short introductory blog post here on Active Rain to talk about what we're doing and do a little show & tell at the same time. So now that I've written something I might write up in an email response to his question, or an introduction about why experts blog, I can link back to my blog on my site where the rest of the meat for his question would be. In fact, Small Steps to Build Presence was an equally helpful comment for him, and possibly you.
This is making your blog work for you, and making all the social sites joined work more to your advantage. There are pros and cons to every practice, you have to make the best judgement call for the market you work with.
In any Realtor's case, adding your content to your site benefits you far more than adding it to Active Rain. Active Rain posts should be introductory in nature, creating pathways with your link to the full article on your site.
