Ok. Now we have to get thru this storm

Just joined up with Activerain.  Loved the blogs and info shared here.  So tell me how you are all doing out there to survive?  I am working day and night to hook up with the REO depts to jump into the best thing going out there.  It sure seems to be just an agent or two that get the listings here and they don't return calls, have an attitude or just plain nasty.  Do any of the rest of you have the same problem?

They are letting these properties go.  They are a mess.  No electricity, no photos online or just one or two photos. They are not representing these bank owned properties.

And the funny part is...I have lived here my entire life.  Worked REO's many times.  I have never seen such a lack of work ethics that a couple of the agents that glut them here have.

If only their clients knew how they were treating these properties.

And if you are very lucky you can get them to respond to you in a few days...With an attitude to match.

Anyone else have any problems like this?   I don't know where or how these agents are getting the business.  Any real ideas on how to get on their approved lists? Use to be but now it seems they are agents here I have never heard of that popped up with the REO's.  Tried every which way and site and joined up...Any luck with anyone out there?  Appreciate any feedback.

Good will to all!

Thanks.  I got caught up here in the NW *Vancouver Wash winter storm so I had time to find this great site.

Snowed in and not alot to do but research new business ideas.

Hope your weather there is kind to you.  It is terrible here.   Record snow and ice to boot.

Best regards,

Patricia Bergren

Hi Patricia and welcome to active|rain.

REOs are a tough market to break into. My company is pretty big (64 offices and over 3800 agents) so we're already established here in NYC to get the lion's share of the REOs.

There are thousands of tips, tools, and tricks of the trade here. Be sure to check them out. Best of luck and see you around.

Good morning Patricia,

I think we have all had similar problems with REOs. I do have to say there is one agent here in Portland that does REOs that has been actually amazing. Answering his phone every time, quick to get power, gas & water on so we can do inspections. He even went over himself to do a repair that the bank wouldn't pay for.

So, have faith there are a few out there and I hope you get in to REOs so there will be more that treat the customers correctly!

Patricia. Well said!  There are agents in my market with REO listings that you MAY NEVER hear from once you've submitted an offer! Ridiculous.  They don't return phone calls or email, respond that they have even received your offer, and don't call or email once their bank-client has taken another offer.

I do list REO proeprty in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area, and tell agents I work with (when they bring me an offer) to just "shoot me" if I ever get that arrogant!  I have agents bring me offers on my listings that seek them out because they know how I operate my REO business.

You are right... these asset managers would croak if they only knew!
