Marina State Beach - a Great Place to Walk (California)

This is one of my favorite beach walks. You can walk on and on forever, or so it seems. Once you are a few blocks from the parking lot you have the beach mostly to yourself - except for the flocks of birds. Dress warmly, in layers as this is a windy beach much of the time.

If you want an easier walk, you can stroll along the boardwalk. This is not a beach for swimming as it has strong rip currents and is very hazardous. The beach is at the foot of Reservation Rd. in Marina, Ca. The parking lot closes a half hour after sunset.

Great pictures Eileen. This looks like a nice beach. I'm surprised it's not packed.

We don't have a beach in our back yard to take evening walks on... but we do have a very sandy 40 acre pasture.  I guess we could close our eyes and imagine the sound of the waves!  ;-)

My husband and I love to walk on the beach - he was raised on the Atlentic Ocean and really loves it, but arthritis has slowed him down,  Karen

Hey, Eileen.  Stumbled across these pictures today and wanted to thank you for my 'brain vacation.'  Love the coast and the birds add so much to the beach!
