Peace On Earth Is A Sleeping Dog

Dog PlaypenAt this Christmas and holidays time of year all of us can easily work ourselves into a frenzy with gift buying, decorating, cooking, traveling, visiting others and just the sheer change to our routine. But I have always gathered much of the wisdom in life from those not so attached to all this stuff or activities. Namely those in slower modes in life, the elderly, very young children and dogs. At Christmas we hear about Peace On Earth Goodwill Toward Men.

But help me here. What is Peace on Earth? It is stillness where we can know a bit of a connection with the Divine.

Sleeping Dog

Peace On Earth Is A Sleeping Dog.

Do not make peace on earth any more complicated than this. This visual will give you a start for seeing the "peacefulness" of the season. Other "signs" may be a comforting smile, a calm baby, the breeze blowing through the trees, the still blackened starlit night sky.

Do not miss peace on earth during this time of year. It is a gift that is yours for the taking.

May you and your family and friends enjoy a memorable and festive "peaceful" Christmas and holiday season.

I think I hear snoring!

If anyone feels they're too busy at Christmas time for the 'elderly, very young children, and dogs', they should pick up a copy of 'A Cup of Christmas Tea by Tom Hegg.  Take five minutes, and read it.  Have a hankie handy.

As usual wonderfully said.  If we can just slow down for a little bit and notice the silence, it can be comforting during all the rushing around.  P.S.  My dog is snoring too!  Ahhhh, the silence!  Sorta.

Merry Christmas to all at AR!

Hi Gary;

Lovely post.  Sweet pictures.  We can all learn from children, animals and nature to bring us back to our "authentic self."  It looks nothing like the life we have taken on.

We were gifted into the earth to share the talents we brought with us.  We just don't remember.  We are too caught up in the human experience forgetting we are Spiritual Beings having a human experience.  We are such loving, peaceful and joyful beings.  This is how I have chosen to see all creation.

Have the greatest year you have ever had.

Sincerely,

Rosa

Life is sometimes just plain hectic.  There's lots to be said about peace.  A nap in the afternoon will help us live longer as well as making each of us happier!  Our dog has all the right ideas!  Beautiful photos!

Oh Gary, I agree with you through and through.  If we all took the time to walk the earth at a slower pace deliberately fit it into our schedules, than we too might notice the things that aren't taken for granted by a child, a dog, or an elderly person.

Time to smell the roses and dream.  I believe my children and blogging helps me to do that.

Gary.. I don't know about peace on Earth.  But I have noticed over the years that people tend to be in better spirits.. which in a sense can give peace on Earth in a sense.  Don't you think?

Every once in awhile I think about how much easier it would be if my perspective was more like Sundance's -- no day-to-day worries or stresses, just a genuine appreciation for the basics - a good meal, comfortable shelter, companionship, a mid-day nap. We can learn a lot from our canine friends.

Nothing says unconditional love like a dog. I love my dogs more than some people, because I know I can count on them 1000%!!

Gary - I wish I had a sleeping dog this Christmas. It was so chaotic that even the dog had so much nervous energy that she never sat for more than 5 minutes at a time. Everybody is gone today and this is what I call "peace on earth".
