Scripts!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Real Estate RS151669

I know I need to work on a few things to further my real estate career.  However there is one thing I have always had trouble with, Scripts.  I have trouble getting them down and memorizing them.  It is like a mental block!?!

Using ScriptsThis time around I have enlisted the help of a friend.  I need the support and motivation to keep going.  We had a Keller Williams class today on it today and here are some of the tips offered for when you are working on your scripts:

  • Read them over three times before you use them to help internalize them.
  • Rewrite them into your own words, so it flows better.
  • Role play with a partner if need be.
  • When calling and using the scripts, stand up and keep a smile on your face.  This keeps the tone of your voice friendly and upbeat.  It also tends to give you more energy.
  • Keep practicing!

If anyone has any tips that they use, please share.

Hi Carol - I haven't used scripts because I didn't think they were "me".   Your tip about rewriting in your own words is a good one and may help.  I've always associated scripts with life insurance agents (e.g., "term life is like betting you're going to die") but realize they have a place in our business as well.

We have those classses in our office as well and are beneficial to the agents who don't understand how to communicate properly or have a flow for conversation when questions are asked.  It's a head in the right direction.  For me - it was a hard learn and practicing with another agent is always helpful and I do put things down in writing to focus on when I have a conversation.

I have been in sales so long that I have a multitude of scripts I use. At this point it seems I am able to go to auto pilot. Keep practicing and you will achieve your goals.
